43 W/E DESCRIPTION: We are an oasis in the middle of Flower Mound, on the north shore of Grapevine Lake, and close to both Dallas and Ft Worth. Flower Mound has restaurants and shopping, including a Target store, and Wal Mart is coming soon. Grapevine Mills Mall, with a Bass Pro Shop, is 15 minutes away, for shopping, restaurants, and the train station, with Six Flags in Arlington 45 minutes away. AMENITIES: Roped off swimming hole, fishing pier, boat ramp, fish cleaning station, volleyball court, horseshoe pit, handicap access, restrooms, showers, dump station, paved roads, paved sites (mostly shaded) , tenting, pets on a leash are welcome. The North Shore hiking and biking trails are nearby. The Twin Coves Marina is closeby and has ice and fishing supplies. DIRECTIONS: From I-35W, exit #74 and go East on FM 1171 about 10 miles to the light at Burton Oran & Simmons. Turn right on Simmons and go 4 stop signs, then right on Wichita Trail for 1 1/10 mile. Turn left on Twin Coves Park Rd for 1 mile to park gatehouse. RENTAL UNITS: None MONTHLY/LONG TERM SITES: None Recreation USA Members pay $10.00 a night and may stay 3 nights per visit. Drive ups only...no reservations. Discount not valid for holiday weekends. |
