DESCRIPTION: Camp Nelson RV Park is located about 25 miles South of Lexington, and 8 miles South of Nicholasville....overlooking the Kentucky River. Historical markings on the Kentucky River cover 42 miles in Jessamine and Garrard Counties. Other area attractions include the Camp Nelson Civil War Heritage Park (with Civil War reenactments the last weekend in April), the Shaker Town Village, Keenland Race Course, Red Mile Race Course, Kentucky Horse Park, and the 3600 acre Herrington Lake. Golf courses are closeby.

AMENITIES: Kentucky River, Boat Ramp, Fishing, Swimming Pool, Pavilion, Camp Store, Restrooms and Showers, Laundry, Public Phone, Ice, Grass Sites, Picnic Tables, Playground, Basketball, Volleyball Court, Walking Trails, Tenting, Pets Welcome.

DIRECTIONS: From Lexington, go South on US 27, cross the Kentucky River and take the first left. Follow the road all the way to the end.
